Independent Methodist Church is the site of one of the largest Nativity displays (Click here to view Slides) in the country. With thousands of hand-painted, Italian-made miniatures,
people, animals, buildings, and accessories, we recreate "the little town of Bethlehem". It is our gift to the Lord Jesus Christ on the occasion of His birthday.
With remarkable Biblical accuracy, and exquisite details, the interior exhibits
depict the wheat fields, vineyards, olive orchards, shepherd's pastures, lakes,
workshops, and marketplaces. The Birth of Christ comes alive! The scenes include
The Annunciation, Journey to Bethlehem, Stable, Adoration of the Shepherds, the
Visitation of the Wise Men, and much more.
The congregation hosts the public to inspirational walks through its decorated facilities, during the Sundays of December. This "tour" is called "The Stations of The Nativity".
Dates and times will be announced.
In addition, numerous religious theme
trees are in evidence. Thousands of lights are featured in the shrubbery,
which encircles the church. The outdoor near life size Fontanini Nativity
scene is the exact replica of the creche figures appearing in the apartment
of Pope John Paul II, and seen in the movie HOME
ALONE.
In addition to
the Christmas display, the parish puts up elaborate sacred and seasonal
displays for Easter and Thanksgiving.
